Local Food & Country Market, Saturday May 26th, 10 - 4 PM

This re-envisioning of the PLDCA's long running Local Food and Flea Market will be a spring celebration of local farms, garden and lifestyle in rural Saanich. It will feature local produce, baked goods, preserves, pet foods, local arts and crafts, 4H informative displays, Youth for Agriculture, free store, car trunk sale, outside booths and more. Free tables are available. You can pick up Information and Application Forms at Rob's Gas (corner of W.Saanich & Sparton Rds.) This event is being organized by the Aikido Club. Garden Group for 2012   The PLDCA has many enthusiastic gardeners in its membership, and with that in mind an application has gone in for a seniors grant to establish new gardens at the hall that will be maintained by a very social group of volunteers once in. This initiative is being spearheaded by John Wrinch, Chair and gardener extraordinaire, with much enthusiasm from others.

The success of the hall maintenance group in both keeping the hall lovely and growing friendships among them was one of the catalysts for this initiative. The volunteer hall maintenance group is a vital hub of activity and a source of fabulous community connections. Watch our bulletins for more on the grounds initiative.
